Tasks and Breaks

Tasks and Breaks are events you put on your calendar to block time for yourself — paperwork, lunch, a personal errand, a recurring cleaning slot. Unlike appointments, they have no client, no services, and no pricing. They can be one-off or recurring.

Calendar tab > + floating button > Task or Break.

  • Add a one-off Task or Break at any time on your calendar.
  • Toggle Daily Break for a quick lunch-style block without filling in details.
  • Pick a color so the event stands out on the calendar.
  • Attach a saved address.
  • Set the event to repeat daily or weekly on chosen weekdays, up to 90 days from the start.
  1. Tap + on the Calendar and choose Task for a generic block or Break for downtime.
  2. Enter a title (required), pick a date and start time, and either an end time or a duration (default 60 minutes).
  3. Optionally pick a color, attach a saved address, and add notes.
  4. Tap Save. A toast confirms Task created: <name> or Break created: <name>.
  1. Tap + and choose Break.
  2. Toggle Daily Break ON. The title is locked to Daily Break, the color picker is locked, and the location and notes sections are hidden.
  3. Pick a time and tap Save.
  1. Create a Task or Break as above.
  2. In the Schedule section, open the Repetition dropdown. Pick Daily or Weekly.
  3. For Weekly, seven circles (M, T, W, T, F, S, S) appear. Tap each weekday you want to include.
  4. The End date field appears, defaulting to 90 days from the start. Tap it to pick an earlier end if needed.
  5. Tap Save. Bookora schedules every instance of the series within the 90-day window.

View, edit, or delete instances of a recurring series

Section titled “View, edit, or delete instances of a recurring series”
  1. Open any instance in the series.
  2. Scroll to the Related Events section, which lists all upcoming instances.
  3. Tap any instance to jump to it. From the open instance, you can edit or delete that single occurrence without affecting the rest of the series.
  4. To remove the whole series, delete the parent event — every instance disappears.
  • Repetition options are Daily and Weekly.
  • The repeat interval is always 1 (every day or every week). Skip-week patterns like “every other Monday” aren’t supported.
  • Recurring series cap at 90 days from the start.
  • Repetition rules cannot be edited after the series is created. To change them, delete the series and create a new one.
  • Appointments cannot recur. Use a Task or Break if you want a slot that repeats on your calendar.
  • The title is required for a regular task or break. When Daily Break is on, the title is locked.
  • The start date can be up to 365 days in the past and 365 days in the future.
  • You can’t switch a Task to a Break or back after saving. Delete and recreate.
  • File or image uploads are not supported.
  • Please enter a title. Required for regular tasks and breaks. Either fill the title, or toggle Daily Break ON.
  • The color picker is missing. Daily Break is ON. Toggle it off to access color and other options.
  • The Repetition dropdown is missing. You’re editing an existing event. Repetition can only be set at creation — delete and recreate to change it.
  • The end date won’t accept my chosen date. It must be within 90 days of the start. Pick an earlier date.
  • One occurrence disappeared from the series. It was deleted from the related instance. There’s no undo — recreate it as a standalone event.
  • I deleted one occurrence and the whole series vanished. You deleted the parent event, which removes every instance. Open a related instance and delete it from there to remove only one date.
  • The Related Events section shows Failed to load related events. Tap Retry. If it keeps failing, the parent event may no longer exist.
  • My task overlaps with an appointment. That’s allowed — tasks and breaks are informational and don’t block appointment creation.
