Calendar

The Calendar tab is your main daily workspace. It combines a month grid at the top with an hour-by-hour timeline of the selected day at the bottom.

Bottom tab bar > Calendar.

  • See every appointment, task, and break on a single timeline.
  • Switch days by tapping any date in the month grid.
  • Create new events directly from the calendar.
  • Search events by client name, phone number, service, or title — from any tab.
  • Jump back to today with one tap.
  • Refresh the calendar manually if something looks out of date.
  • The month grid shows colored dots on days that have events. A +N badge appears when a day has more events than the dots can show.
  • The timeline shows a full 24-hour day. Event cards snap to 5-minute increments.
  • Your working hours are shown with a clear background. Non-working hours have diagonal stripes.
  • When the timeline is showing today, a line marks the current time.
  • The footer below the timeline shows the selected date, weekday, your working hours, and small dots that indicate how many events the day has.
  • On a day off, the timeline is fully striped and the footer shows Day off.
  1. Tap any date in the month grid to switch the timeline to that day.
  2. Swipe the month grid left or right to move between months.
  3. Scroll the timeline up and down to view all 24 hours.
  4. Tap the Today button in the header to jump back to today.
  5. Tap the refresh icon in the header to reload calendar data.
  • Tap the + button next to the bottom bar to open the Create New Event sheet. Choose Appointment for client bookings or Task / Break for personal time blocks. The + button is only on the Calendar tab; there is no longer a separate button in the bottom-right corner.
  • Long-press an empty area on the timeline to create an event at that time.
  • Tap any event card on the timeline to open its details. From there, you can edit it, mark attendance and payment, duplicate it, or delete it.
  • Every event page has a Show in calendar button that takes you back to the calendar at that event’s day and time. Handy when you opened the event from search or from a notification.

You can reschedule an appointment by moving it on the timeline (the same gesture you’d use to drag it to a new time). When the change is saved, Bookora asks whether to send a change notification to the client — confirm to notify, or skip to move it silently. The prompt only appears for clients who have notifications enabled.

The magnifying-glass button next to the bottom bar searches every event on your calendar — appointments, tasks, and breaks — no matter which day is open. The button is available on every tab.

You can search four fields: client name, phone number, service name, and event title. Results appear as you type.

  • Text needs at least 2 characters; a phone number needs at least 3 digits.
  • Phone formatting doesn’t matter: +1 555 123 finds +1 (555) 123-45-67.
  • With several words, an event has to contain all of them, but they can match different fields. For example, anna haircut finds Anna’s haircut appointment.

Results are split into Upcoming and Past sections, each headed by the number of matches. Tap a card to open the event; if you edit or delete it, the list refreshes itself.

While the search field is empty, your last five queries are shown — tap one to run it again. That list is kept on the current device only.

  • Only one date is selected at a time. To set working hours for several dates at once, enter selection mode from the calendar header. See Working Hours.
  • The timeline shows one continuous working block per day. Split shifts (for example, morning and evening with a midday break) are not shown as two separate working blocks. If you need a midday break, add it as a Break event.
  • The current-time line only appears when the timeline is showing today.
  • Overnight events that cross midnight (for example, an appointment from 22:00 to 06:00) are stored as a single event whose end time falls on the next day. The card may appear cut off on the timeline — tap it to see the full details. Working Hours themselves cannot cross midnight; see Working Hours.
  • Search only looks at client name, phone number, service name, and event title. It doesn’t search notes, address, or price.
  • The calendar looks blank when I open the app. Tap the refresh icon in the header. If the screen shows Calendar Data Error, tap Retry Loading.
  • Today’s events are missing. Check that the selected date in the month grid is today. Tap Today to jump back.
  • The whole timeline is covered in diagonal stripes. That day is marked as a day off. To change it, edit your working hours.
  • The current-time line isn’t showing. It only appears when the timeline is on today’s date.
  • An event extends past the bottom of the timeline. It’s an overnight event. Tap it to see the full time range.
  • I can’t find the + button in the corner of the calendar. It moved next to the bottom bar and only appears on the Calendar tab.
  • Search doesn’t find an event I know exists. You need at least 2 characters, or 3 digits for a phone number. With several words, the event has to contain all of them. Remember that search doesn’t look at notes or address.
  • Couldn't search events. Usually a network issue. Tap Retry.
