Regional Preferences
Section titled “Regional Preferences”Six cards, each opens a picker dialog:
- Language — pick from the supported app languages, including Arabic with full right-to-left layout.
- Currency — a large list including AED, USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, BRL, INR, CNY, RUB, AUD, CAD, AZN, and many more. The currency you pick is used across prices, statistics, and the booking page.
- First Day of Week — Monday through Sunday.
- Time Format — 12-hour (
1:00 PM) or 24-hour (13:00). - Date Format — pick the order (
DD/MM/YYYY,MM/DD/YYYY,YYYY/MM/DD) and the separator (/,-, or.). - Time Zone — the zone your business runs on. See Time Zone below.
Tap Save Changes after picking.
Time Zone
Section titled “Time Zone”This one setting is the clock your business runs on: Working hours, booking slots and new appointments use this time zone. It’s a property of your profile, not of any single screen in the app.
Tap the card to open the picker. Search by zone name, city, or GMT offset (for example, +3), and pick from the list. Your current profile zone and your device’s zone are offered as quick picks at the top, so adopting the zone you’ve travelled to takes one tap.
What happens when you change it
Section titled “What happens when you change it”Picking a different zone opens a confirmation sheet that spells out the consequences before anything is saved, split into What changes and Stays as is:
- Working schedule — changes. The hours you saved move to the new zone, so a 09:00 start stays 09:00 on the new clock. If a daylight-saving change falls inside the range, the sheet says from which date and by how much.
- Online booking — changes. Slots are recalculated and any booking session a client has open right now restarts.
- Existing appointments — stay as is. They keep their time and the zone they were saved with.
- Client reminders for those appointments — stay as is, in that same zone.
If the zone you pick doesn’t match the zone your phone is set to, the sheet adds a Doesn't match your device warning telling you how far apart the two clocks will read on screen.
Confirm, then tap Save Changes. A toast reports Time zone updated. Your working schedule was rebuilt and active online booking sessions were reset.
If your device moves to another zone
Section titled “If your device moves to another zone”When Bookora notices your phone in a different zone from your profile — after a flight, say — it offers the new one once on the home screen: Your device is in another time zone, with the same ledger of what would change, and Keep current / Change. Dismissing the sheet counts as keeping what you have. Each new zone is only offered once, so declining it doesn’t turn into a recurring prompt.
Nothing is switched automatically. Your profile zone changes only when you say so — from that prompt, or here in Regional Preferences.
Common issues
Section titled “Common issues”- Currency symbol in Statistics didn’t update. Reopen Statistics or pull to refresh.
- My working hours look shifted after changing the time zone. Expected when your phone is in a different zone from your profile. The hours are saved in the profile zone and drawn on your device’s clock, so the two readings differ by the offset between them. The
Doesn't match your devicewarning on the confirmation sheet names that difference up front. - My existing appointments didn’t move to the new zone. By design — an appointment keeps the zone it was created with, and so do the client’s reminders. Change it per appointment in the
Time zonefield. See Appointment timezone. - A client was booking and had to start over. Changing your time zone resets booking sessions that are open at that moment, because the slots they were holding are recalculated. They can book again straight away.
- The app looks mirrored after switching to Arabic. That’s intentional — Arabic uses right-to-left layout. Navigation and text flip by design. Switch back to a left-to-right language to restore the previous layout.
- Some text in another language seems untranslated. Rare, but possible if a string is brand-new or has a placeholder. Report it via Support Chat with a screenshot.
