Bookora Partner Program — Cookie Policy
Effective date: 21 April 2026 Last updated: 21 April 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Bookora (“Bookora”, “we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://partners.bookora.me (the “Partner Site”), how you can control them, and how the cookie banner on the Partner Site works. It is part of — and supplements — our Partner Privacy Addendum and the Partner Program Terms of Service.
We comply with the EU ePrivacy Directive (as implemented in each EEA state), the GDPR / UK GDPR, and equivalent rules in the other jurisdictions we operate in (for example Brazil’s LGPD and the California CCPA / CPRA).
1. What cookies are
Section titled “1. What cookies are”A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device so it can
recognise the device on the next request. “Similar technologies” include
localStorage, sessionStorage, and first-party web beacons. This
policy uses the word cookies to cover all of these.
Cookies can be:
- First-party, set by
partners.bookora.meitself, or third-party, set by another domain we load resources from; - Session cookies, which disappear when you close the browser, or persistent cookies, which live on the device until they expire or you delete them.
2. The four categories we use
Section titled “2. The four categories we use”We group everything we load into the four categories the cookie banner shows you. Loading strictly-necessary cookies does not depend on your choice; loading anything in the other three categories only happens after you allow that category through the banner.
2.1. Strictly necessary
Section titled “2.1. Strictly necessary”Loaded by default — no consent needed. These are the minimum technologies required for the Partner Site to work, to keep it secure, and to honour your choices.
| Purpose | Example name | First / third party | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remembering your language / locale | bookora-locale (localStorage) | first | Until cleared |
| Remembering your theme (light / dark / system) | bookora-theme (localStorage) | first | Until cleared |
| Carrying your application reference between the application flow and the confirmation page | bookora-application (cookie) | first | 30 days |
| Storing your draft-application progress so you can come back later | bookora-apply-draft (localStorage) | first | 90 days of inactivity |
| Storing your consent choices so we do not show the banner on every visit | bookora-consent (cookie) | first | 12 months |
| Basic security, abuse, and rate-limit protection | rotating session cookies | first | Session |
2.2. Functional
Section titled “2.2. Functional”Loaded only after consent to the “Functional” category. These make features work better but are not strictly required — for example, an embedded video player that remembers volume or captions, a form-saving extension of the draft-save behaviour, or a chat / support widget if we add one.
At the time of publication the Partner Site does not load any functional cookie that needs consent. We will update this section before one is added.
2.3. Analytics
Section titled “2.3. Analytics”Loaded only after consent to the “Analytics” category. These let us measure aggregated behaviour on the Partner Site — drop-off on the application flow, broken links, time to first meaningful paint, and similar. We use analytics only to improve the Partner Site, not to build marketing profiles.
We may use providers that place first-party or third-party cookies with
names like _ga*, _pk_*, ph_*, or similar, and we may combine them
with IP-truncation and short retention settings where offered. A current
list of active analytics providers and cookie names is made available on
request to partners@bookora.me.
2.4. Marketing
Section titled “2.4. Marketing”Loaded only after consent to the “Marketing” category. The Bookora Partner Site is intentionally not an advertising surface and, at the time of publication, loads no marketing cookies. If we later load anything that tracks you across sites, we will list it in this section first and re-prompt you through the banner.
3. Tracking-link attribution for approved partners
Section titled “3. Tracking-link attribution for approved partners”Tracking links issued to approved partners use server-side attribution
with first-party cookies on bookora.me, not on partners.bookora.me,
and are described in the
Payout and Referral Terms and the general
Bookora privacy notice. Those cookies are set when a user visits the
main Bookora product through a tracking link — they are not set by
the Partner Site and are not controlled by the partner cookie banner.
4. How the cookie banner works
Section titled “4. How the cookie banner works”4.1. First visit. On your first visit we show a banner with three choices: Accept all, Reject all non-essential, and Customize (open the preferences panel). Nothing in categories 2.2–2.4 loads before you choose.
4.2. No dark patterns. Accept and Reject are presented as equally visible, same-weight actions. Declining is not harder than accepting.
4.3. Your choice is stored. We record which categories you allowed, the version of this Cookie Policy in effect at the time, and a timestamp, so we can demonstrate a valid consent and re-ask you when the policy materially changes. Consent is stored for 12 months, then we ask again. You can also change your choice at any time — see Section 5.
4.4. Arabic / RTL. On the Arabic version of the Partner Site, the banner and the preferences panel are presented right-to-left.
4.5. Accessibility. The banner is keyboard-reachable, has visible
focus styles, uses ARIA roles, and is announced by screen readers. It
also respects your prefers-reduced-motion setting.
5. Changing or withdrawing your choice
Section titled “5. Changing or withdrawing your choice”You can change your consent at any time:
- Footer link. Click the “Cookie preferences” link in the Partner Site footer. This re-opens the preferences panel and saves a new record. Withdrawal is as easy as consent.
- Browser controls. Every major browser lets you delete cookies and block new ones from all sites or selected sites. Your browser’s help or settings page has instructions; note that strictly-necessary storage in Section 2.1 cannot be effectively blocked without breaking the flow.
- Global privacy signals. We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid opt-out under California law, and treat it as an opt-out of the Analytics and Marketing categories everywhere.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that already happened.
6. Do Not Track
Section titled “6. Do Not Track”The “Do Not Track” HTTP header is not consistently defined across browsers. We do not rely on it alone; we rely on the banner and on GPC.
7. Children
Section titled “7. Children”The Partner Site is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly use cookies to profile minors.
8. Changes to this policy
Section titled “8. Changes to this policy”Material changes — for example adding a new category or a new analytics provider — will cause us to re-prompt you through the banner. Minor changes (clarifications, rewording, typos) are effective on publication. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version.
9. Contact
Section titled “9. Contact”Questions about this Cookie Policy, or a cookie-related access / deletion request, can be sent to partners@bookora.me. We will answer within the statutory deadlines described in Section 8 of the Partner Privacy Addendum.
