Account Deletion
Important: Subscription and Billing
Section titled “Important: Subscription and Billing”Before deleting your account, we strongly recommend canceling your subscription and requesting a refund if applicable.
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription or process refunds. To avoid future charges and claim any eligible refunds:
- Cancel your subscription: Follow Apple’s instructions to cancel your subscription
- Request a refund (if applicable): You can request a refund from Apple for recent purchases
Please complete these steps before proceeding with account deletion.
How to Delete Your Account
Section titled “How to Delete Your Account”Step 1: Access the Settings Screen
Section titled “Step 1: Access the Settings Screen”- Open the Bookora app
- Navigate to the Settings screen by tapping on the gear icon in the navigation menu
- Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings screen
Step 2: Initiate Account Deletion
Section titled “Step 2: Initiate Account Deletion”- Locate the “Delete Account” button at the bottom of the Settings screen
- Tap on the “Delete Account” button (displayed in red text with a delete icon)
Step 3: Confirm Your Decision
Section titled “Step 3: Confirm Your Decision”The app will guide you through a multi-step confirmation process to ensure you understand the consequences of account deletion:

First Confirmation Dialog: You’ll see information about the deletion process and the 7-day grace period
- Select “Yes” to proceed or “No” to cancel

Final Confirmation Dialog: For security purposes, you must type the exact phrase “Delete my account” to confirm
- The confirmation button will only become active after you’ve typed the phrase correctly
- Select “Delete my account” to proceed or “Cancel” to abort the process
What Happens After Requesting Deletion
Section titled “What Happens After Requesting Deletion”Immediate Effects
Section titled “Immediate Effects”- You will be immediately logged out of your account
- A deletion request will be created in our system
- Your account will enter a 7-day grace period
7-Day Grace Period
Section titled “7-Day Grace Period”- During this period, your account remains in our system but is marked for deletion
- You can log back in at any time during this period to cancel the deletion request
- If you do not cancel the request within 7 days, the permanent deletion process will begin
Canceling a Deletion Request
Section titled “Canceling a Deletion Request”If you change your mind during the 7-day grace period:
- Log back into your Bookora account
- You’ll automatically see a deletion notification screen
- Tap the “Cancel Deletion” button
- Your account will be restored to normal status immediately
Data Deletion Process
Section titled “Data Deletion Process”What Gets Deleted
Section titled “What Gets Deleted”When your account deletion is processed, we will permanently delete:
- Your personal profile information
- Your user-generated content
- Your preferences and settings
- Any other personal data associated with your account
Timeframe for Complete Deletion
Section titled “Timeframe for Complete Deletion”- The deletion process begins after the 7-day grace period ends
- Complete deletion of all data may take up to 30 days due to technical constraints and backup systems
- After this period, the deletion is complete and irreversible
Third-Party Services
Section titled “Third-Party Services”- When we process your deletion request, we also initiate data deletion requests with third-party services that may have access to your data
- While we make every effort to ensure your data is deleted from these services, their specific data retention policies may apply
Important Conditions and Limitations
Section titled “Important Conditions and Limitations”Irreversible Process
Section titled “Irreversible Process”- Once the 7-day grace period has passed and the deletion process begins, it cannot be reversed
- We will not be able to recover or identify your data after the deletion is complete
Data Retention Exceptions
Section titled “Data Retention Exceptions”In accordance with our Privacy Policy, we may retain certain information:
- Non-personal, aggregated data for analytical purposes
- Information required by law
- Information needed for legitimate business purposes, such as fraud prevention
